Thirty-plus years ago, Rilla and I first visited Redfish Lake in Idaho while on our honeymoon. We went for a drive from Sun Valley and just happened upon the Lake. In September we returned to Redfish Lake and although there has been some development, the lake is still as pristineand beautiful as I remember it.

He received the Salutatorian for NUAMES 2010 graduating class.

Meaning that he came in second next to the valedictorian. He is very happy with this out come. He didn't want to have to speak at graduation. Jacob is planning to attend Utah State on a presidential scholarship. We're so proud of you Jacob!

Today was Randy's Birthday.

Hayden is learning to write, and made Papa his very own one of a kind "Bubby" Birthday card.

Both of the Grandkids helped Randy open his presents. I guess with age you also need assistance in opening presents. Or at least that's what Grandkids think.

Rilla made the cake again for Randy's birthday. And once again somehow they got messed up. Under-cooked, or falling apart Randy has now had 30 years of messed up birthday cakes. It wouldn't be a normal Randy birthday without a messed up cake!

On Thursday, Jamie and I tried out for both Excalibur and Chatelaines. We thought it was easier than our Acapella tryouts (which were on Thursday--so scary!). Well, it did not look like a lot of people were trying out and we found out that night that only 16 made Excalibur and 9 made Chatelaines. Jamie and I made Chatelaines! (Every girl that tried out made one of the choirs, but we were still really excited).

Today Rilla got to have everyone find out in sacrament that she has been called to be the new young women's president in her ward. She is scared, nervous and excited all at the same time. She's going to miss her nursery kids very much.

Jaron or should I now say Elder Jaron Hansen.

After church today Jaron was ordained an elder with all of his family and best friend David there with him. His dad got to ordain him and Jesse got to be there in the circle. It was a very awesome moment for all of us.

The best moment though had to have been... Jesse, Jaron and Randy all standing there in the circle to set Rilla apart for her new calling. Don't know how Rilla held back tears at that moment. Perhaps she was all out. She had been crying almost the entire two hours prior to that.

Rilla and Randy had to stay later to take care of some other business. All the kids came home to eat lunch. Rilla has been wanted to have pictures taken before Jaron leaves on his mission. The time just hasn't presented it's self. I love to take pictures, so I grabbed Randy's camera.

This months is an over-welming month. There are five birthdays including mine this month. Every Sunday save one we will be having Birthday parties.

Today Jacob turned 17... Happy Birthday Jacob! I didn't have my camera with me, and I didn't take my USB stick with me so no pictures of the happy event. Plus Jacob hates when I take pictures of him. He's kind of a GRUMP!

Today after Jacob had to bring us the extra car seat (Daddy snook the other one to work with him) we went on Hayden's field trip to the Nature Center.

After the Nature Center, we were already on 12th st. So we went and visited Great Grandma and Great Grandpa and Jerry. Kimmy didn't know what to think at first. Great Papa wanted to hold her, but she didn't have a clue who Great Papa was. So she sat next to him instead, and was very sweet to him.

Hayden remembered, and helped Kimmy know her way around the house.

It's amazing what Kimmy can get a grown man to do for her. Great Papa and Great Grandma were enamored with Kimmy. And Kimmy was enamored with the babies all over the room.

Right before we left Kimmy and Hayden gave both Great Grandma and Great Grandpa hugs and kisses (Hayden was scared of Jerry) and told them bye, bye! the entire time we were leaving... all the way to the stop sign. They stopped once I turned left.

Jaron is Valedictorian for Northridge. This is not a suprise by any means, he has known since his Jr. year that he was in the running. He just found out that he got it a few weeks ago in the middle of one of his classes. He has been offered a full ride to USU and BYU, he thinks he's going to accept the offer from BYU.

He's planning on going to one semester of school before he leaves on his mission.

I was told last night that Papa's blog hasn't been updated in quite some time. I wasn't a wear that I was responsible for updating it unless I had a special occasion that needed to be posted. I guess that's my mistake. Here is another post. This is My Hayden he is growing up so fast. It feels like just yesterday he was my baby. Every day I wake up and look at Hayden, and I can help but marvel at how handsome he is. He is the cutest and best son I could have asked for. It doesn't hurt that he looks exactly like the love of my life (his Daddy).

Then there's My sweet little Kimmy. She's the most beautiful baby girl I have ever seen. She is so small and cuddly. She is everything that I would have wished for in a daughter. I didn't have to wish, I got her as perfect as could be. It doesn't hurt at all that she looks exactly like me!

If there was ever any one little princess in the world that Papa would give the moon to she's right there...in Papa's arms.

When we had Kimmy we wanted to name her after her Papa. We never imagined how big of an impact that would have on Papa. Not only is she his only granddaughter but she shares Papa's middle name. Of course Papa loves his little girl, he can't say "no" to her. He's constantly sneaking snacks to her.
If Papa puts Kimmy down to do something, she just smiles the cutest smile she can muster, so he'll have to pick her back up. Whenever Papa walks into the room she starts squealing for him to pick her up. She hasn't said Papa yet, but when she does...Papa's not going to get much done anymore.

Today Hayden, Mommy, Daddy and Kimberly drove to have lunch with Papa and Grandma. First, we picked up Grandma on our way to Papa's work. Hayden got to ride in the back of the new car. He has been asking to pick Papa up from work for the past month. He wasn't too thrilled when Papa got in the car and sat on the seat with Grandma instead of next to him. We went to lunch at the Old Spaghetti Factory at Trolley Square. Trolley Square looks deserted, most of the shops look like they are getting new stores for this summer. Hayden got to wander around with his Papa and spend time with a bunch of people he loves. He had a blast doing "1, 2, 3, whee!!!" with Grandma and Papa, and he got to eat macaroni & cheese, some of Daddy's soda, and to top it off, ICE CREAM! After lunch, he still got to spend the rest of the day with his Grandma - waiting for Papa to get home from work. He had such a fun day, so of course he was worn out and a little ornery tonight.

Kimberly had fun too. She loves all of the attention. She has been talking baby talk to me for a while, but this weekend she just started talking to her Daddy. Her sounds are so cute! It just makes Daddy's day when she squeals at him. She also had fun exploding her diaper all over her outfit and Grandma's towel. I think she planned it so that she could have a bath at Grandma's.

Les Miserables

I am finally getting around to puting pictures from Jaron's Les Miserables performance on the blog. Les Miserable ran mid January and Jaron was Marius.

These first pictures were not actually in the play. I will try to explain the following pictures. Some are out of order because I was trying to put the landscape pictures together and the portrait pictures together.

Marius is a student trying to recruit help for the revolution, he sees Cosette and it's love at first sight. Marius asks Eponine to find Cosette for him after she fled when the soldiers show up. Marius tells his friends of his love and not even knowing her name.
